ABSTRACT
Objective@#To study the incidence and clinicopathological features of intermediate fibroblastic/myofibroblastic tumors(IF/MFT) in infants and the young children.@*Methods@#All available cases with soft tissue tumors in infants and children were retrieved from the files of Women and Children′s Hospital Affiliated to Qingdao University, from January 2012 to December 2017.The incidence rate of IF/MFT was observed.Cases of IF/MFT were identified and investigated by light microscopy and immunohistochemistry by reviewing the related literature.@*Results@#Among 290 soft tissue tumors, 15 cases(5.2%) were IF/MFT, accounted for 88.2%(15/17 cases) of borderline soft tissue tumors.Twelve cases were male, 3 cases were female, the median age was 8 months, and 4 cases were congenital.Clinically, 11 cases were presented with slow-growing painless masses located in the trunk or extremities.According to histopathology, 9 cases(60.0%) were categorized as infantile fibromatosis(IFM), including 5 cases(33.3%) desmoid-type and 4 cases(26.7%) diffuse-type; 3 cases(20.0%) as lipofibromatosis(LFM); 2 cases(13.3%) as infantile fibrosarcoma(IFS) and 1 case(6.7%) as giant cell fibroblastoma(GCF). All 15 tumors were characterized by the presence of spindle fibroblasts and myofibroblasts with infiltration of the surrounding structures.Immunohistochemically, all the 15 cases were diffusely positive for Vimentin(Vim), but negative for Myogenin, MyoD1, Desmin and S-100.Smooth muscle actin(SMA), β-catenin and Bcl-2 were positive in some cases to a certain degree.The Ki-67 proliferation index was higher in diffuse-type IFM and IFS, the former was 5.0%-20.0%, and the latter was about 20.0%, however, the other cases showed Ki-67 <5.0%.The main clinical treatment was complete or extensive excision.@*Conclusions@#IF/MFT accounts for a high proportion of intermediate soft tissue tumors in infants and young children, mostly seen in male children, and IFM and LFM are the main types.The clinical signs and symptoms associated with these tumors are often nonspecific, and their histopathologic manifestations may overlap.The final diagnosis of IF/MFT must depend on the characteristics of age, location, histopathologic changes and immunohistoche-mical findings.

Objective To investigate the expression of p40 (ANp63),p504s and their diagnostic value in benign and malignant lesions of the prostate,also to compare with the expression of p63.Methods The expression of p40 (ANp63),p63 and p504s in 92 cases of benign prostatic hyperplasia and 67 cases of prostatic carcinoma were detected by immunohistochemical MaxVision method.Results p40 and p63 were positive in 95.7 ％ (88/92) and 87.0 ％ (80/92) of benign prostatic hyperplasia,and the intermittent and low expression in p63 were more common than those in p40.The positive expression rate of p40 was obviously higher than that of p63 in benign prostatic hyperplasia (x2 =4.381,P ＜ 0.05).Both p40 and p63 showed no expression in prostatic carcinoma,but p63 appeared with abnormal cytoplasmic staining in many cases of cancer cells,which was 17.9 ％ (12/67).The specificity of combined detection of p40 and p504s in the diagnosis of benign prostatic hyperplasia and prostate carcinoma was as high as 100 ％.Conclusion p40 is more sensitive than p63 in prostate basal cells.Combined detection of p40 and p504s is valuable to distinguish poorly differentiated benign prostatic hyperplasia from prostatic carcinoma.

Objective To evaluate the effect of Rab23 on the proliferation of a squamous cell carcinoma cell line Sa3,and to investigate its mechanisms.Methods Cultured Sa3 cells were classified into four groups:normal control group transfected with green fluorescent protein (GFP),Rab23-overexpressing group transfected with a GFP-labelled Rab23-overexpressing plasmid,Rab23-silencing group transfected with a plasmid carrying a Rab23-targeting shRNA,empty vector group transfected with an empty vector.After additional culture for different durations,plate colony formation assay and flow cytometry were performed to evaluate the proliferative activity of Sa3 cells,and Western blot was conducted to detect the expression of Erl/phosphorylated-Erk in Sa3 cells.Statistical analysis was carried out by t test,one-way analysis of variance and Bonferroni's multiple comparison test.Results Stable Sa3 cell lines with overexpression or silencing of Rab23 were established by plasmid construction and lentivirus-mediated transfection.The plate colony formation assay showed that the colony formation rate was significantly lower in the Rab23-overexpressing group than in the normal control group (2.3％ ± 0.2％ vs.3.6％ ± 0.3％,P ＜ 0.05),but higher in the Rab23-silencing group than in the empty vector group (4.1％ ± 0.2％ vs.1.8％ ± 0.03％,P ＜ 0.01).Rab23 overexpression induced G1 phase arrest in Sa3 cells.The proliferation index was significantly decreased in the Rab23-overexpressing group compared with the normal control group (0.581 ± 0.035 vs.0.698 ± 0.018,P ＜ 0.05),but increased in the Rab23-silencing group compared with the empty vector group (0.567 ± 0.015 vs.0.444 ± 0.014,P ＜ 0.01).As Western blot showed,there were no significant changes in the expression of Erk in the Rab23-silencing or-overexpressing group compared with the normal control group,whereas the expression of p-Erk was attenuated in the Rab23-overexpressing group compared with the normal control group,but enhanced in the Rab23-silencing group compared with the empty vector group.Conclusions Rab23 could inhibit the proliferation of Sa3 cells,which may be associated with the Erk pathway.

Objective To study the relationship between resting heart rate(RHR)and essential hypertension(EH).Methods 215 patients with EH and 82 healthy subjects underwent RHR detection.The relationship between RHR and the state of EH was analyzed.Results RHR in EH group was significantly higher than that in normal group[(78.9±9.1)bpm vs(69.5±10.9)bpm,P＜0.01)],RHR in different stages of EH was significantly different(F=21.280,P＜0.01,respectively),and increased with grades(P＜0.05 orP＜0.01).RHR in EH patients complicated with left ventricle hypertrophy(LVH)was higher than those with no LVH[(83.9±9.1)bpm vs (75.9±8.9)bpm,P＜0.01].There was positive correlation between RHR and LVH(r=0.8097,P＜0.01).Conclusion RHR is related to the development and progress of EH,and it may be one of the index for estimating the state of EH.

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To explore the effects of recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH) on the serum levels of cytokines in severely burned patients.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Thirty-six burn patients were enrolled in the study and were randomly divided into 3 groups according to the rhGH dosage used, i.e. small (0.3 IU.kg(-1).d(-1), A), large (0.6 IU.kg(-1).d(-1), B) dose groups and control group (C, with normal saline). The rhGH was administered beginning from 3 postburn days (PBDs) and lasted for 20 days. The dynamic changes in the serum levels of TNFalpha, IL-6, IL-8 and LPS at different time points were observed.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>When compared with those in C group, the serum levels of TNFalpha, IL-6 in A, B groups were decreased, especially in B group with earlier decrease and bigger range (P < 0.01). Simultaneously, the serum LPS level was decreased accordingly with evident positive correlation with the change in those cytokines (r = 0.9723, P < 0.01). But there was no obvious difference in serum IL-8 level among A, B and C groups (P > 0.05).</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>rhGH might decrease the production of postburn inflammatory mediators, especially in higher dose in dose-dependent manner for some degree. The clinical application of rhGH might be a supplementary measure in preventing and ameliorating postburn SIRS and MODS in severely burned patients.</p>

AIM:To observe the therapeutic efficacy of Huoxiangzhengqi Oral Liquid (Herba Agastaches seu Pogostemi, Radix Angelicae Dahuricae, Rhizoma Atractylodis, Rhizoma Pinelliae, Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae, Pericarpium Arecae) and Tablet of Radix et Caulis Acanthopanacis Senticosi on the withdrawal symptoms from heroin. METHODS: 143 cases were randomly divided into three groups, namely control group (n=44), treating group A (n=48) and B (n=51). They were detoxified by using Lofexidine Hydrochloride Tablet (LFX) for 12d, and then, the control group took an imitate preparation, the treating group A took Huoxiangzhengqi Oral Liquid and Tablet of Radix et Caulis Acanthopanacis Senticosi for 60d, But group B took Huoxiangzhengqi Oral Liquid and Tablet of Radix et Caulis Acanthopanacis Senticosi from the time when detoxification began. And then, 10d after the two treating groups stopped taking Huoxiangzhengqi Oral Liquid and Tablet of Radix et Caulis Acanthopanacis Senticosi, the protracted abstinent syndromes of the three group were observed and scored for 7d. One year later, the drug re abusing case of the three groups were investigated through urinoscopy.
